This event is presented by the Social Development Commission (SDC). The SDC serves as a planner, coordinator, and implementer of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County. MHS is pleased to join SDC for this fair as a key resource for healthcare related information.

• Food Service program served approximately 2 million meals to more than 110 places in 2008
• Served more than 49,000 households to keep their lights and gas on through Energy Assistance in 2008
• Helped more than 10,000 households in the 2008 tax season get free tax preparation services
• Head Start program helped 3,788 preschool children get ready with the academic and social skills needed for success in kindergarten and later in life
• Youth Programs helped more than 630 youth reduce involvement with the criminal justice system in 2008
• Weatherization and Rehab programs assisted more than 845 households maintain safe and affordable housing during the 2007 – 2008 program year
• Helped 442 Senior Citizens maintain an independent life-style in 2008
• Received 67,269 hours of volunteer service through donations in 2008
