Read More...MHS Performance Improvement Committee announces first quarter focus on smoking cessation efforts.
The Performance Improvement Committee, made up of MHS employees, has announced its intent to launch a campaign to assist members in quitting tobacco. Members will receive phone messages, educational materials and offers of help when calling into our service center. “We have also set a goal of getting 54% of our members who smoke to obtain smoking cessation counseling from their doctors. It might be a stretch, but I know we can achieve anything if we set our minds to it”, said Director of Quality Improvement, Jan Larson.

Managed Health Services and Cenpatico Behavioral Health were the proud recipients of a Community Partner Award on December 2, 2010. The award was presented by Warmline Inc., a non-profit agency that provides a non-crisis, peer supported call center for people with mental illness. Warmline presented the award while celebrating its 10th anniversary of operations in the Milwaukee area.

In an ongoing effort to offer our members the most complete care available, MHS reached out to its providers (physicians) for assistance. We asked physicians to complete and send back a medical information form to us regarding the number of those enrolled in one of the disease management programs; inclusive of preventive health care services. For each form received, the physician was entered into a raffle to win an iPod Touch.
