Information on Directory Entries:

Specialty – A specialist is a doctor who works in one health care specialty, for example heart, skin, bones. Information about a practitioner’s specialty is self-reported and verified through the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation & Licensing. We check our practitioner’s credentials at least every three years and update in real time when notified of changes.

Hospital Affiliations – This is a list of hospitals that a practitioner has privileges or permission to practice within. This information is self-reported by the practitioner and can be updated in real time.  

Medical Group Affiliations – This is a list of medical groups that a practitioner may belong to. This information is self-reported by the practitioner and can be updated in real time. 

Board Certifications – This is a designation for specialty practitioners that have achieved and maintain an exceptional level of expertise. MHS-WI may accept state licensure as verification for residency training, graduation from medical school, and/or board certification, if the state agency performs Primary Source Verification.

Accepting New Patients – This is an indicator of a practitioner’s ability to schedule appointments with patients they have not seen before. This information is self-reported by the practitioner and can be updated in real time. 

Languages Spoken in Office – This is information on practitioner or staff skills in other languages. This information is self-reported by the practitioner and can be updated in real time.
