For patients diagnosed with a history of spontaneous preterm birth, we offer a comprehensive 17P Administration Service to complement your plan of care.

MHS and Alere make is easy to start your patients on 17P Administration Services! To refer a MHS member, all you need to do is contact Alere at: (800) 999-9428.

MHS provides coverage for 17P for the following indications*:

• The patient has been pregnant at least once before with a single baby
• The patient has had a prior spontaneous preterm delivery (prior to 37 weeks), preterm labor, preterm rupture of membranes, or incompetent cervix
• The patient is currently pregnant

*Exclusion criteria (noted below)

• Nurse Administered: optimizes patient compliance with the complete series of injections you have prescribed.

• Current preterm labor
• Known fetal anomaly
• Progesterone or heparin treatment during current pregnancy
• Hypertension requiring medication
• Seizure disorder
