Electronic Visit Verification Required for all Personal Care Workers as of January 1, 2022
Date: 08/18/21
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has announced the official go-live of required Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is January 1, 2022.
MHS Health Wisconsin requires all personal care workers (PCW) agencies to utilize EVV, including PCWs who are live-in workers. The Wisconsin DHS stipulates that all PCWs who are not in compliance will not be reimbursed for services.
MHS Health is contacting members who utilize PCW services to let them know of this requirement and that the state requires they be reassigned to an EVV compliant PCW if their current PCW is non-compliant. This means your patients may be transferred to a new PCW.
Nearly 750 of our members need PCWs for their daily care. Since PCWs are critical to their quality of life, MHS Health has prioritized support to PCW workers and agencies to help them get ready for the January deadline. Please let us know how we can help, such as training, tools, or other resources.
