Why A Yearly Doctor Visit Matters

Whether someone feels good or needs support, a yearly check-up helps keep people healthy, catch issues early, and get care — all at no cost.

It’s also a chance to talk with a doctor about what’s most important to you. You can ask questions and set goals.

Q: I’m young and healthy — do I really need to go?

A: Yes! Yearly visits help you stay healthy. Even if you feel great, your doctor can find small problems early and answer your health questions.

Q: I don’t have time to go to the doctor

A: We make it easy. Pick an in-person or virtual visit at a time that works for you.

Q: What if I can’t pay for it?

A: Check-ups are no cost for MHS Health Wisconsin members.

Q: I don’t have a way to get there.

A: We offer no-cost rides to and from your visit. MTM is the non-emergency medical transportation manager for Wisconsin Department of Health Services. MTM can arrange transportation to covered appointments for Medicaid SSI and BadgerCare Plus members.

Q: What if no doctors are accepting new patients?

A: We’ll help you find a doctor who is taking new patients and meets your needs.

Q:: I don’t have a doctor or need to change mine/my child’s.

A: No problem! You can change your doctor anytime through your secure account. Use our Find A Provider tool to see available doctors.
